The owners wanted to completely change one level of the back garden. This area was north facing and looked out onto a beautiful view of the Somerset coastline.
The owners of this garden wanted a dramatic water feature and pond as well as having a lawn area for their young daughter to play on. The house was constructed in art deco style and they wanted the outdoor space to complement with the exterior features of the house.
At the core of this design is the long pond with four wall mounted stainless steel water spouts. The pond is home to approximately 150 fish. For child safety we used a product called from Pond Safety. This Diamondeck system comprises of plastic grids which sit just below the water line and prevents anything being able to fall into the pond. A soft palette of colour using ‘inky pool blue’ paint on the walls of this feature helps it to be sympathetic with its surroundings.
After removing a lot of uninspiring pink concrete slabs and endless layers of concrete, a large amount of soil was brought on site on which a new lawn was laid.
